Biography
Ms. Deborah Kim received her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the USC Thornton School of Music and her Master of Music from the New England Conservatory of Music studying under Alice Schoenfeld, Eudice Shapiro, Paul Kantor, Robert Koff, and with Dorothy Delay of the Juilliard School at the Aspen Summer Music Festival.

Highlights of Ms. Kim’s appearances have included solo performances at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, Ebell Theatre, and Zipper Hall as well as concerts overseas in Europe and Asia. Ms. Kim has been concertmaster for many years for the Brentwood Westwood Symphony, the Los Angeles Camerata Orchestra, the Los Angeles Dream Orchestra, and the Huntington Beach Symphony. Since 2011, Ms. Kim has been the President for the Brentwood Westwood Symphony.

She has been invited to coach and conduct master classes at various summer festivals including the Montecito Music Festival, Idllywild Festival,  and the New Cranes Festival in Beijing/Los Angeles. She has been on the faculty of Junior Chamber Music of Orange County for over 10 years and she has been on the panel of judges for numerous competitions.

Ms. Kim has been teaching privately for over 28 years where her students have placed in countless competitions including SYMF, VOCE and the Bach Festival.  Her students have been accepted to top schools such as USC, NEC, Berklee College of Music, MIT, and Juilliard.
